CPP Wind Engineering

CPP Wind Engineering engaged Workspace360 in late 2021 to assist with the fit-out of an outdated office in St Peters, NSW. The new office space was leased to support CPP’s business growth, adding an additional 540m2 to their existing 300m2 office space and warehousing.

Having previously worked with CPP on smaller projects, Workspace360 had already built trust with the team at CPP. Initially, the team was asked to review an existing proposed design and embellish on it. However, after a closer review with the client, Workspace360 completely overhauled the design and started from scratch.

The original design was quite colourful, featuring shades of light and dark blue to tie in with CPP’s logo. However, we suggested neutral finishes such as whites, greys, and blacks, as well as Tasmanian Blackwood features and natural greenery to create a timeless and inviting look and feel.

We also amended the layout, maximizing floor space while creating zones to suit different working styles, from fully collaborative to quiet and concentrated. The concept plan provided by Workspace360 included 36 open-plan workpoints, all with electric sit-stand desks, as well as extensive storage and model display units to showcase wind tunnel models. Additionally, we included 12 hotdesks/collaborative bench spaces, a 10-seater meeting room, and a casual lounge meeting room for 10 people, 3 booths for 4-6 people per booth, a large kitchen and breakout area for all staff (including those in the existing office space), timber feature walls with acoustic treatments, whiteboards, feature lighting, a moss green wall, and timber coffered and bulkhead ceilings to create defined spaces and add interest to the space.

To help CPP realize their vision and share the journey with their team, Workspace360 provided detailed renders during a series of weekly workshops, once the layout was determined. These helped to display the colour scheme finishes and layout, allowing for minor tweaks to the design until it was exactly what CPP wanted.

In March, Workspace360 provided CPP with a final FFE Schedule, Cost Plan, and Project Program and began onsite work in April. The project was completed within the project program and handed over to a thrilled CPP team. The Managing Director advised us that the team is much happier and working longer hours, as they love their new workspace so much. The new space has also helped bring staff back into the office who had been working from home due to COVID-19 and lockdowns, which was an important goal for CPP.

We have since been engaged again by CPP to upgrade their existing office and create a reception space, both of which are currently in progress. This speaks for itself in terms of Workspace360’s ability to provide CPP with a beautiful, fit-for-purpose workspace, to be asked back to do it all over again!
